ROTARY CLUB OF LAKE OSWEGO SCHOLARSHIPS

2024 Scholarship Application

Once again this year, the Rotary Club of Lake Oswego will award scholarships to high school seniors who plan to attend college or another institution of higher education. The purpose of these scholarships is to encourage leadership, academic excellence, service to others, and personal accomplishments in school and the community.

There are three types of scholarships available to seniors in Lake Oswego. Each scholarship is valued at $3,000. These scholarships are:

  • The Service Above Self Scholarship: Based primarily on a commitment to community service
  • The Merit Scholarship: Based primarily on academic achievement, student activities, honors, and leadership
  • The Bigelow Memorial Scholarship: Academic success, activities, and community service are encouraged, however, the most important consideration is the student's resilience.  The judges are interested in learning about challenges that candidates have faced and how they addressed those challenges.

Rotary scholarships are awarded without regard to race, religion, gender, disability, or any other legally protected status.

Payment of the scholarship will be made during the recipient’s first term, directly to the institution of higher learning in which the recipient is enrolled. Scholarship recipients will be announced in June.

The applicant must be a graduating senior who is planning to attend an institution of higher learning within eighteen months following application for the award.
